Five creative ways to celebrate Valentine's Day

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, a lot of people are making reservations at fancy restaurants or still trying to figure out their game plan for the special person in their life. Some see going to a restaurant as the classic Valentine’s Day date night, but many times those are overpriced and very cliché. It is great to think outside of the box without totally breaking the bank, while putting in significant effort celebrating the love you share between each other. Here are some creative ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Create a Picture Collage or Scrapbook

What better way to gift your Valentine than to put together pictures of memories you’ve shared together. A lot of people share pictures so heavily on social media that we don’t get to appreciate the physical form of them. Documenting moments that matter in a scrapbook is a fun and personalized way to show how much you are thankful for them being in your life.

Have a Scavenger Hunt

This can be done just about anywhere, either at home or around the town. You can customize it however you want by giving your valentine different tasks to do to solve the hunt. For example, having them follow a map based on places that represent a past experience y’all had with a clue at each place until they get to the final destination leading to the date spot, or if at home, leading to a gift in a hidden place.

Chef It Up

Maybe you’re not the best cook, or perhaps you can give #Saltbae a run for his money in the kitchen. Either way, what is a dish your valentine absolutely loves or better yet, something you both love? Find the recipe for it and gather all the ingredients, make a song playlist to set the right mood whether it be trap music or neo-soul, grab some wine, and have your valentine in the kitchen with you to prepare the dish. This is a sure fun way to make a great dinner, just follow the directions correctly!

Another option: take a couple’s cooking class, This private session will be guided by a chef to ensure you know each step! Bon Appétit!

Hit the Beach

Depending on where you are, it may be too cold during Valentine’s Day to do this. However, if you’re in a warm environment or not afraid of a chilly beach day, bring your Valentine to the beach, take a walk on the boardwalk and sand while basking in the views of the ocean. Pack a picnic basket and blanket and have a lunch by the shore.

Enjoy your Valentine’s Day and remember to cherish each moment!
